Most script analysis courses have delving
into the depths os serious plays to find the nuances
of the character, when in fact most of the scripts an
actor does are 3-4 page sides for auditions where it
often seems like there is no information on which to
construct a character or make a strong choice. The
answer: Learn how to mine a script for every piece of
information buried in and between every line! In this
class you will learn how to ask the right questions,
where to find the answers and how to make strong
choices.
Each week the actors will be given a scene to analyze
on their own. The following week, the class will go
through the steps of analysis to find all the "gold".
They put this information together to find the
writers purpose for the scene. The class then
explores the different ways the scene can be brought
to life to enhance the writers intent without
violating his script.
